Screenwriter
Ariane Hahusseau
Notre
histoire
Born in France, Ariane grew up all over the world. After studying literature at King’s College London and the Sorbonne in Paris, she graduated from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles with an MFA in Screenwriting. If period drama is her favourite genre, Ariane’s dark sense of humour naturally leads her to black comedies that focus on rejoicing themes, like death! Pitched at the Cannes Film Market, her historical drama (Nicholl Fellowship quarter-finalist) THE UNFINISHED SONATA was optioned and set to be produced until the untimely death of its director James Foley (GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS). The psychological horror feature she co-wrote with writer-director Erin Vassilopoulos (SUPERIOR) has been picked up by producer Brad Zimmerman (CHRISTY, PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN) and is set to shoot in 2026. Ariane was recently hired to write the adaptation of the best-selling British novel A THOUSAND PAPER BIRDS by Tor Udall. She is based between Los Angeles and France.
